In July 2016, Temple of the Dog announced that they would hit the road for a 25th Anniversary Tour in celebration of the band’s only album, Temple of the Dog. Performing at each show will be Soundgarden’s lead vocalist Chris Cornell, Soundgarden and Pearl Jam drummer, Matt Cameron, Pearl Jam guitarists Mike McCready and Stone Gossard, and Pearl Jam bassist Jeff Ament.

The tour kicks off on November 4 at the Tower Theater in Philadelphia. Other stops on the tour include at Madison Square Garden in New York City and The Forum in Los Angeles. Find your Temple of the Dog tickets before they’re gone!

Temple of the Dog Biography

Temple of the Dog formed in Seattle in 1990 as a tribute to Andrew Wood, a close friend of Chris Cornell, who died from a drug overdose. Joining Chris Cornell were Stone Gossard, Jeff Ament, Mike McCready, Matt Cameron, and Eddie Vedder.

Temple of the Dog began rehearsing the tracks “Reach Down” and “Say Hello 2 Heaven,” which were written by Cornell, as well as re-working other material written by various band members. The band recorded their debut self-titled album in only two weeks.

Released on April 16, 1991, Temple of the Dog was released through A&M Records and sold 70,000 copies in the United States shortly after its release. The next year, both Soundgarden and Pearl Jam had made names for themselves, which prompted A&M Records to re-release Temple of the Dog. The album became one of the best-selling albums of 1992.
