Chris Martin from ColdplayColdplay will play a gig at Kensington Palace in London for a HIV charity established by Prince Harry.

The gig, in front of 3,000 people in the palace gardens, will take place on 28 June. Tickets for the event will go on sale at 9am on Friday (May 27).

Prince Harry’s charity, Sentebale, was formed to provide help and support to young children and adolescents suffering from HIV and Aids in sub-Saharan Africa.

Also confirmed for the special gig are Laura Mvula, Nico & Vinz and George The Poet, who is an ambassador for Sentebale. Further announcements on the line-up are expected shortly.

In a statement, Coldplay said:

“We’re delighted to join Prince Harry for this very special concert and to support Sentebale’s incredible work with adolescents affected by HIV in Lesotho and Botswana.”

The concert at Kensington Palace is just two days after Coldplay headline the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury. Before that they will embark on the UK leg of their arena tour on 4 June at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester.
