The worst-kept secrets in music are now officially out of the bag – with the Coachella Festival line-up confirming that both Guns N Roses and LCD Soundsystem will be reuniting to play the Californian festival this year.
We recently reported on the rumours about Guns N Roses and LCD Soundsystem, and today’s line-up announcement has finally confirmed it. The only outstanding issue is exactly what Guns N Roses line-up we will see. Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan are all thought to have signed up to the reunion, but there are still question marks over who will complete the line-up.
Respected rock journalist Mitch Lafon reported yesterday that the final Guns N Roses line-up will also feature Dave Kushner of Velvet Revolver on guitar, Richard Fortus on guitar, Frank Ferrer on drums, Dizzy Reed on keyboards, and multi-instrumentalist Chris Pitman.
Coachella runs over consecutive weekends on 15-17 April and 22-24 April. The reformed LCD Soundsystem will be headlining the Friday nights, with Guns N Roses headlining the Saturdays. Joining them on headline duties will be Scottish DJ Calvin Harris, who has bagged himself the Sunday headlne slot.
Other notable acts included on the Coachella bill are Ellie Goulding, Disclosure, A$AP Rocky, Sia, Chvrches, M83, Underworld, Foals, Grimes, Run The Jewels, Deerhunter, Ice Cube, The 1975, Bat For Lashes, Savages, The Last Shadow Puppets – in other words, its a pretty strong-looking festival line-up.
