Are Busted about to reform for an arena tour?

Hold on to your hats Busted fans!

Reports in The Sun newspaper today have suggested the pop trio could be about to announce a reunion tour.

Busted split up back in 2005 after Charlie Simpson quit the band to pursue a more ‘rock’ approach with the ill-fated Fightstar, but according to The Sun’s ‘sources’ he has agreed to come back and is currently in discussions with his old bandmates James Bourne and Matt Willis about an arena tour next year.

The source allegedly said:

Busted are re-forming by the end of the year and Charlie is part of the band again. It’s amazing because Matt and James have always said there’s more chance of pigs flying than Charlie coming back to Busted.

But this is something that has been secretly discussed for a number of months – it was important the three guys felt they could work together again and get along as friends.

Since Busted split, Matt and James have found huge success with McBusted – their supergroup with members of McFly – and according to the source this may have had something to do with Charlie’s new found desire to get back in the Busted saddle:

Obviously McBusted’s success, including financially, must have had something to do with Charlie’s decision.

Although the reports of a reunion are just rumours and hearsay at the minute, there could be an element of truth in them.

Earlier this year Charlie said in an interview that the trio had begun talking again after their acrimonious split 1o years ago. He said:

I went for a long time keeping completely out of touch with Matt and James, but now that they are doing music again, we’ve got in touch and it’s really nice.

We used to be really close when we were younger, it’s nice to have that relationship back again.
