The headliners for this years Glastonbury Festival are now complete, after Adele confirmed she will headline the Saturday night of the Worthy Farm festival.
Adele announced the news live from the stage during her sell-out gig at the O2 Academy, telling fans: “I wanted to do it last year but my record wasn’t ready. And to the people who say I am too boring to headline, you’re more fucking boring for moaning about me headlining.”
The news of Adele headlining Glastonbury will not come as surprise to many, as the mega-successful singer has been the subject of heavy rumours for some months – and even came out on top of our readers’ poll on who should headline Glastonbury.
After Adele broke the news, Glastonbury organiser Emily Eavis swiftly confirmed it on Twitter – saying it was an ‘honour’ to have Adele playing the festival:
What a great honour it is to have the wonderful Adele confirmed for this year's Saturday night headline spot on the Pyramid Stage!
